JOIN THE MUSIC MEN AT REHEARSAL!

Visitors are always welcome at our rehearsals! You’ll get an enjoyable example of what barbershop is all about - men having fun singing together!

We meet every Monday evening (except holidays) from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Masonic Center (2002 2nd Street SW) in Rochester, Minnesota.

DIRECTIONS: From US hwy 52, take the 2nd St SW exit and head west for 1/2 mile. The Masonic Center is on your left across from Tyrol Ski & Sports. Park in the rear lot and enter the double doors at the rear. Head down the stairs or take the elevator on your left and walk right in. See map for details.

Someone will greet you when you enter our rehearsal room. You’ll be provided with a guest music folder and seated in the appropriate voice section of the chorus. An experienced section member will be assigned as a voice to "lean on" and to answer your questions. The following is brief outline of a typical evening program:

• Warm-up exercises/easy singing

• Chorus rehearsal

• Break

• Short business meeting

• More chorus rehearsal

• Closing song

We hope your experience at our rehearsal is a good one and you’ll consider joining this fun and rewarding hobby. Visitors are welcome to attend several rehearsals before they decide to join our chorus. You don’t have to make any snap decisions.

WHAT ARE A CHORUS MEMBER'S RESPONSIBILITIES?

Each member is encouraged to participate in all chorus rehearsals and performances. That said, we fully support family and work commitments and understand that we all have lives with other priorities and conflicts. We do not schedule rehearsals on Mondays that fall on holidays or over the Christmas Holidays.

Our annual dues are about $160 for regular members, less for students and men over 70. Dues help provide financial support at the Society's international, district and local chapter levels and include all uniform expenses. Our Chapter raises most of its operating funds through paid performances and hosting Barbershop Harmony Society district conventions here in Rochester. Members are asked to support such fundraising activities by performing and by helping staff these events.
