Merle Savage has been a barbershopper for over 20 years. He sang with the Sheldon, Iowa, and Windom, Minnesota, chapters and served as director of the Worthington, Minnesota, chapter before moving to Rochester and becoming director of the Rochester Music Men. He has sung with many local quartets in each of these chapters. Merle also does some musical arrangements for the chorus.

Merle currently lives in Rochester with his wife Shelly and four children. He directs the choirs at John Adams Middle School and has other various elementary school music education assignments in the Rochester community. In his "spare" time you can see him in performances at the Rochester Civic Theater.
