MEMBERSHIP QUALIFICATION

Visitors are always welcome at our rehearsals at any time! We hope your experience is a good one and that you may consider joining this fun and rewarding hobby.

Upon expressing interest in joining our chorus, the potential member will be voice-placed and will need to meet the qualifications of the Music Team to become part of the performing chorus. An application will also need to completed, which permits official membership status in the Barbershop Harmony Society.

WHAT ARE MY TIME COMMITMENTS?

Each member is encouraged to participate in all performances and contests that the chorus is involved with. Each member is also encouraged to participate in each rehearsal every Monday evening. We fully support family and work commitments, so we try to be flexible to family vacations, work schedules, and other priorities and conflicts. Some events (contests and annual show) have rehearsal attendance requirements to assure quality performances.

WHAT ARE MY FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS?

Our annual dues are about $150 for regular members, less for students and seniors over 70. Dues are subdivided to provide financial support at the Society's international, district, and local chapter levels. This figure also covers uniform expenses. Dues are collected at the national level, and can be paid by credit card. The Chapter raises most of the money for its operations through paid performances, Singing Valentines and hosting Society district conventions, etc. Members are expected to support such fund-raising activities by performing and by helping operate major events.
